NextCycle Michigan

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Currently, Michigan has gaps at every link in the recycling supply chain - recycling access, collection, sorting, end markets, and recycled-content manufacturing. The NextCycle Michigan initiative is positioned to be the catalyst of entrepreneurial spirit and public-private collaboration that will drive Michigan toward its 45% recycling goal.

NextCycle Michigan is a state initiative that provides a high quality, investable addition to traditional grant application approaches aimed at improving the recovery of materials and creating a circular economy within Michigan. Using a multi-track idea incubator, the program provides technical support, subject matter expert mentoring, and resources to move ideas toward implementation. Not to mention a funding mechanism that engages private, public, and non-profit partners, leveraging available state funds, to support projects and challenge tracks.

NextCycle Michigan is a State of Michigan initiative with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), managed and facilitated by Resource Recycling Systems (RRS), in collaboration with the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University, and the Michigan Recycling Coalition.
